data protection
who we are
Our website address is: https://www.insel-moen.de.
What personal data we collect
Comments
When visitors write comments on the website, we collect the data that is displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and the user agent string (this is used to identify the browser) to support spam detection .
An anonymized string of characters (also called a hash) can be created from your email address and sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. You can find the data protection declaration of the Gravatar service here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment has been approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Cookies
If you write a comment on our website, this can be a consent to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is a convenience function so that you do not have to re-enter all this data if you write another comment. These cookies are stored for a year.
If you have an account and log in to this website, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will set up some cookies to save your login information and display options. Login cookies expire after two days and cookies for the display options after one year. If you choose “Stay signed in” when registering, your registration will be maintained for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the login cookies are deleted.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data and only refers to the post ID of the article you have just edited. The cookie expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this website may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These websites can collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking services from third parties and record your interaction with this embedded content, including your interaction with the embedded content, if you have an account and are logged in to this website.
Who we share your data with
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to evaluate the number of hits and thus to improve our website. Google Analytics does not save the IP address, email address or other personal data.
Asciment
We collect information about visitors who leave comments on websites that use our Akismet Anti-Spam Service. The amount of information we collect depends on how the user has set up their website. This data usually includes the user’s IP address, the user agent, referrer and website URL (as well as the information that the user has entered directly, such as name, user name, e-mail address and the comment itself).
How long we keep the data
If you write a comment, it will be saved indefinitely, including metadata. In this way, we can automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website, we also save the personal information that they provide in their user profiles. All users can view, change or delete their personal information at any time (the user name cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and change this information.
Newsletter Møn-Post (email)
If you subscribe to the Møn-Post, we send you an email about once a month with notes on what is going on across Møn, with new pages and tips on places to stay. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Subscription uses the double opt-in procedure: you receive a confirmation email, and we only add you after you click the link. We log the time and IP address of the subscription and of the confirmation so that we can prove your consent.
We store your email address, the language, the page on which you subscribed and the time of subscription. Emails are sent via Brevo, a service of Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany. The servers are located in the EU, and a data processing agreement is in place with the provider.
By default Brevo measures whether an email was opened and which links in it were clicked. Technically this works through a small image in the email and redirects of the links; among other things, the time, IP address and device type are transmitted to Brevo. We use the results to see which topics are read. The measurement is covered by your consent. If you do not want it, you can switch off image loading in your email program or unsubscribe.
You can withdraw your consent at any time: with the unsubscribe link in every email or by email to the address in the legal notice. We store your data until you withdraw your consent.
The sign-up window is loaded from our own server voxmara.com; as with any page request, your IP address is transmitted to that server. It sets no cookies and counts anonymously whether it was shown, clicked or closed, without email address and without an identifier. If you click “No thanks” or “do not show again”, your browser remembers this locally so that the window does not appear again. This information does not leave your device. The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG.
voxmara.com is not a third-party provider but a service run by the operator of this website (see the legal notice). For each event the count stores only the page, the position of the sign-up window, the device type and the time, but no IP address; to prevent abuse, the IP address is kept for at most one hour, only as a check value with a key that changes daily.
What rights you have to your data
If you have an account on this website or have written comments, you can request an export of your personal data from us, including all data that you have given us. In addition, you can request the deletion of all personal data that we have stored about you. This does not include the data that we have to keep due to administrative, legal or security-related needs.
Accommodation offers (Stay22)
On some pages we show accommodation offers with prices. Our server retrieves these offers via the Stay22 interface and stores them for up to 24 hours. No data about you is transferred to Stay22; we also deliver the preview images from our own server. Only when you click on an offer does a Stay22 link with our partner ID open, which forwards you to Booking.com. From then on, Stay22 and Booking.com process your connection data (for example your IP address) in accordance with their own privacy policies. If you book, we receive a commission; the price does not change for you.
Audience measurement without cookies
We measure how this website is used with our own method that runs on our server. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Only the page viewed, the language, the page you came from, the device type, your browser language and whether you used the search, a map or an accommodation link are transmitted. From the IP address our server additionally derives only the country of origin (DB-IP database, stored on our server). Your IP address and browser identifier are not stored; they are only used to form a shortened check value for the current day so that views of the same visit can be grouped. The key for this is renewed and deleted every day, so recognition across several days is not possible. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring reach and improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); as neither cookies nor device storage are used, no consent is required. We no longer use Microsoft Clarity.
