Where Møn Denmark is: the island of Mon
Møn lies between the southern tip of Zealand and the eastern tip of Falster. To the north, the Ulvsund separates the island from Zealand; to the west, the Grønsund separates it from Falster. The island covers 217.75 km² and has 8,853 inhabitants (1 January 2026). Until 2006 Møn was a municipality in its own right; since 2007 it has belonged to Vordingborg Municipality.
Two fixed links lead onto the island. The Dronning Alexandrines Bro, a 746 m bridge from 1943, connects Kalvehave on Zealand with Koster near Stege. In the west, a causeway runs over Bogø to the E47 motorway on Farø. So you do not need a ferry for the last stretch, only for the crossing from Germany to Denmark.
